The Arrowhead Game Recognized by Writer’s Digest

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: my middle grade novel, The Arrowhead Game, has been awarded Honorable Mention in the Children’s/Young Adult Fiction category of the 94th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition!

This year’s competition received nearly 3,800 submissions from writers across 45 countries, so to see The Arrowhead Game recognized among such a talented group is both humbling and energizing. While it didn’t take the top prize, this Honorable Mention feels like a meaningful nod, one that reminds me to keep writing, keep believing, and keep pushing this story out into the world.

About the Story

The Arrowhead Game is a survival thriller set in the wilds of Florida, where two siblings must outwit a storm, a smuggler, and their own buried secrets. It’s a story about courage, quiet magic, and the tangled bonds of family, written with love for the landscapes that shaped me.

This recognition feels especially sweet because it comes at a time when I’ve been deep in revisions, contest submissions, and query letters. If you’re a writer, you know how much those moments of encouragement matter.

A Thank You

Thank you to Writer’s Digest for continuing to support emerging voices, and to everyone who’s been cheering me on behind the scenes. From critique partners to storm-chasing inspirations (you know who you are), this little milestone belongs to you, too.
